Ruminate accepted my poem “Flaws” for an upcoming issue! It was also a semi-finalist for the Janet B. McCabe Poetry Prize. “Flaws” is a newer poem about painting, motherhood, and atonement. (If you are interested, I can email you a copy to read).
It was nice to get some encouraging news amidst the many rejections I’ve gotten this summer (and of the three poem contests I entered, this is the only one I even remotely got close in). Lately I’ve not had much time to send out my work, or even to write very much. I’ve gotten some editing done on my manuscript and some individual newer poems, but summer was not the flurry-of-writing I’d hoped it would be.
But, my writing class approaches, so that will force me to put some pen to paper…
