laundry day

Folding Zu’s cat-print teal pants today, I was brought back to those early days before she came, when I spent hours folding and refolding, organizing and reorganizing her closet and dresser of never-worn (at least by her) baby clothes, in anticipation of holding that squirmy little baby for the first time. I had a lot of dream-baby notions but didn’t know anything about the real thing–though oh so loved that cottony-pink happy-dream-baby. So much better to know and love the real thing–because Zu is the type of baby who of course wears cat-print teal pants–its just her style–and that is the type of thing it took a few months to get, and a year to get even better. As much as I savor the dream-baby stage of pregnancy–what gender, what color eyes, will this one take after Me this time…–I so look forward to getting to know this little person.

  1. Did you hear Jessica Simpson is pregnant again? She just gave birth to her first baby in May! I feel like young women our age have babies closer and closer together now.

P.S. Teal cat pants are totally Zuzu's style! So cute. 🙂

  3. i saw that on suri's burn book; i'd be interested in seeing a study/ statistics on that. its hard to know if we have a good outside/total perspective on it, since we have babies and are growing our familes, so its stuff we hear/pay attention to more than those that aren't. and i think being in the southern christian community, there's more of that going on than in the north.
