a few things i’ve had to let go of, being the mom of 4 kids ages 6 and under

very clean floors, SLEEP, shopping in actual stores, full-time career, very nicely curled hair, seasonal decor, much of my writerly pursuits and possibilities (start a literary magazine, get that third book written, start a local reading series…), having a body that Hasn’t had four kids, breakable things within reach, vacations, waking up past 6, listening to cool depressing music, quiet library trips, hot meals, hot showers, hot coffee, a carefree self-centered day to day, sleep, sleep, sleep

.

others have given up more or less. and this list is paltry compared to what i’ve gained. just thought i’d share, in case you thought you can do it all at once (or thought that maybe i was) (i’m not)
