leading worship

Bryan led morning worship at Providence Baptist this morning. It was his first time to lead Sunday morning worship at a church–he leads Wednesday night worship as part of his internship–and he did wonderfully! The church is a charming little country church. Worship was all old hymns–Be Thou My Vision, What Wondrous Love, There is a Fount, On Jordon’s Stormy Banks, etc. There were a few unexpected things that happened–like the pastor forgetting to let Bryan (or the congregation) know that there wasn’t going to be a children’s sermon until after Bryan had already led the children in worship, but Bryan handled it all really well and I was so proud of him. It’s so fulfilling to see my husband serving in the role God called him to.

anniversary date night!

Bryan and I had a lovely anniversary date last night. We went to the Melting Pot for “The Big Night Out” — which is this ridiculous amount of yummyfondue, a cheese course, the meal, then chocolate (of course!). Then home for a romantical evening. I can’t believe how quickly three years have gone by!!

I found this cool list of what gifts you’re supposed to get (traditionally) on each of your wedding anniversaries. Guess I missed out on getting some paper (year 1) and cotton (year 2), but its not too late for Bryan to get me some leather (or glass if we want to be modern). Next year–either linens (traditional), flowers (UK) or appliances (modern)–I’m rooting for appliances!

3 year anniversary

3 years ago today, Bryan and I got married. It was maybe a little “crazy,” at least from the world’s point of view, to get married as young as 21 and still with a year of college to go, but we wouldn’t have had it any other way! Getting married young was the very best decision we ever made–if I could go back and do it again, I think I would’ve gotten married even earlier, especially if I had known that my married years would be the happiest most fulfilling years of my life. I’m so blessed to have Bryan as my husband!
